Your Local Library as an Important Resource

Lately, more and more people are seeking to improve themselves. Yet, the financial realities of today prevent many to purchase selfhelp and self improvement books, audiobooks, DVD, etc. Does this mean if you’re broke, you can’t improve yourself? Of course not. This is one of the best uses of our tax dollars – your local library. Depending on where you live and how well your local or state officials invested in our education, your local library can be a great resource for your self help needs. Here in Las Vegas, Nevada, we have probably one of the better library system in the country. Very surprising due to the fact that education priorities in this state is usually at the bottom of the country competing with Mississippi. We let them win bottom of the barrel once in a while.
In Clark county, that’s LAS VEGAS to most of you, the library system is completely online. You can search from home internet connection the library catalog. You can download ebooks and audiobooks through free, downloadable Overdrive software. They even have an app for Android. They have a great selection of SelfHelp cd and dvd to last you months and months. You can even reserve your books online and will be notified when it is available to your registered email address.
All this means savings to you. Yes, it’s true….you will not have access to it 24/7 for the rest of your life. You can’t admire the books, cds etc in your bookselves unused. But, for the tax dollar you already spend if you are an homeowner, free if you’re a renter, you can get thousands of dollars worth of free selfhelp guides. Check it out. You maybe missing something if you haven’t gone to your local library since high school.
